Alvvays – Dreams tonite

Alvvays´ Antisocialites is for sure one of the best albums this year. This is the beautiful and instantly catchy Dreams tonite played live at WFUV.

Look for Undertow or other great songs on the album you will surely enjoy their guitar dream-jangle-power pop.

Ryan Adams – Do you still love me?

Do you still love me? opens last album by Ryan Adams, the remarkable Prisoner, and is one of the best songs on it. This is a live take at Jimmy Fallon´s Tonight Show. Adams sounds as great as ever and rocks harder than usual. Play it loud!!

Beck – Blue Moon

I don´t like all of Beck´s body of work to date. But I really enjoy his most acoustic guitar driven music, especially his 2002 album Sea change and his latest Morning phase. From this one is the outstanding Blue Moon.

This is a beautiful and truly heartfelt performance of the song at the EllenTVShow. Beck Hansen displays all his artistry in this delivery leaving no room for sceptics.

Destroyer – Times Square

Canadian Dan Bejar´s band Destroyer performing “Times Square” live at the KEXP studio. This song is on their most recent album, 2015´s “Poison season“, arguably among their best. “This is the first record that I’ve ever done that comes close to my idea of myself as a singer” Bejar said on this record. Subtle, melancholic, elegant music and an excellent live performance.

Courtney Barnett – Depreston

Uhuh! Courtney Barnett again on this blog!! Miss Barnett´s first and second claims to best álbum of the year, A Sea of Split Peas (2013) and Sometimes I Sit and Think, and Sometimes I Just Sit (2015), have been among the most pleasent surprises last years. Her appearance in the rock scene has had a deep impact on rock fans and critics. Her Kurt Cobain meets Bob Dylan style and sound is one of the most refreshing and appealing in rock nowadays. Is she the Great White Hope of rock music?

This is a great performance on EllenTVShow of one of her best songs to date, the impressive Depreston, an instant classic.
